The beach in Gisenyi, at the Serena Kivu.

Fabric at the market in Kimironko (a neighborhood in Kigali)

Tea plantation by the side of the road on the way to Gisenyi

A neighborhood in Kimihurura...Is this California or Rwanda?

Not what you'd expect to see on the back of a truck in Rwanda...

Morgan,

How far is Gisenyi from Kigali... Can you drive say in the morning stay the whole day and come back at sunset ? Or do you have to stay overnight?

Oh my I miss the beach so much! thanks for sharing the pics!

YOu can definitely do a round-trip (it's about 3 hours each way)...but you will be exhausted! I definitely recommend staying overnight.

Thanks Morgan for the information on the Kinyarwanda language. My three year old daughter and I will be taking a pilgrimage there to Kibeho to see Our Lady of Kibeho shrine. We will hopefully also provide volunteer services for the locals in that area (where more than 25,000 of the 1M Rwandans were slaughtered during the genocide.)
We leave in Sept 09..thanks again!
